Services Offerred

IPv6 Services are currently offerred to corporate customers & IP Transit customers of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC.

Individual customers who are interested in getting IPv6 may contact sltnet to discuss possibility. Provision of connectivity will be conditional.

Customers can get connected to SLTnet IPv6 in any one of the following modes.

(1) Tunnelling over the existing IPv4 network.

Tunnel modes supported at present by SLTnet;

(a) V6-in-V4 (ipv6ip-Cisco),

(b) GRE.

(2) Dual Stack - IPv4 & IPv6 on same link (only available for IP-transit customers)

(3) Native - IPv6 only connectivity on a dedicated link

As a Local Internet Registry (LIR), SLT is authorised by Asia Pacific Network Information Center

(APNIC) to allocate IP addresses to our customers.

Customer networks can get prefixes starting from /64 up to /48 depending on the requirement

and size of the network.

Basic requirements for IPv6 Connectivity

(1) Dual-stack

(a) Network device capable of running dual-stack

(2) Tunnel over IPv4

(a) Network device capable of running dual-stack & tunnelling protocols "v6-in-v4" or "GRE"

(b) Static public IP(v4) assigned to the tunneling interface

(3) Native

(a) Dedicated link from SLTnet for IPv6 connectivity

(b) IPv6 capable network device at customer end
